Passenger Corporation, has service from many U.S. cities to
Union Station (WAS), in the heart of Washington D.C.
The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro) provides both rail and bus service in and around the greater Washington D.C. area. The Metrorail stop nearest GMU is Vienna/Fairfax-GMU, on the Orange Line.
From the Vienna/Fairfax-GMU Metro station, the Mason-to-Metro Shuttle, the City-University Energysaver (CUE) Bus, and the Metrobus all run to GMU.
Bus
GMU is serviced by three bus companies:
- Mason-to-Metro Shuttle runs twice an hour--roughly on the hour and half-hour--between Campus and the Vienna/Fairfax-GMU Metro station (approximately 20 minutes each direction)
- City-University Energysaver (CUE) Bus runs 8 different routes through the greater Fairfax area between GMU and the Vienna/Fairfax-GMU Metro station
- Metrobus runs a few times a day between GMU and Tyson's Corner Center (a shopping mall), stopping at the Vienna/Fairfax-GMU Metro station en route
